Wauseon Recreation Says "Play Ball" To Open Summer Season Of Activity

The grand opening of new "Lichtenwald Field" at the north end of Dorothy B. Biddle Park celebrates the upcoming summer season of softball and baseball at the park. Beyond the diamonds at Biddle Park, the Wauseon summer recreation program will include many "facets". The "Wauson Wahoo Swimming and Diving Team" enters their 42nd season in the Greater Nortwestern Ohio Aquatic League. The "Indian Strutters" program for track and field summer competition and skill development for grades 2-8 returns for a 29th summer. Boys and girls from Kindergarten to 8th grade can participate in "Tennis Camp" at Reighard Park on the evenings of June 1-4. The Wauseon Softball Advisory Board will be hosting the "ASA Tomahawk Toss Eastern Qualifier". (Registration for the tourney must be completed by June 5th.) "Guidelines for Golf", a program for developing golfers, will train ages 10-15 at Ironwood from July 6-9.
