Save the date on your calendar! Bring your entire family to Homecoming Hill at the Homecoming Park on June 4th. Kite Flying is for all Ages! Weather permitting, the fun will start at 2:00 pm. The Wauseon Congregational United Church of Christ will be providing free hot dogs and snacks along with free kites while supplies last. Child- friendly crafts will be available at the pavilion. The event is held to honor the day of Pentecost, celebrated as the birth of the Church.
The Strawberry Shortcake Drive-Thru at the Congregational UCC Church will be on June 10th this year. The fund raiser features local strawberries and home-baked shortcake. Servings will be provided by donation beginning at 10:00 am and will continue while supples last. The women of the Wauseon Congregational United Church present the annual Strawberry Shortcake Drive-Thu to the community to support our church building restoration fund The shortcake will be served on the east lawn by the Sullivan's parking lot. Drive thru from Depot street and exit onto West Elm Street. We look forward to serving you this annual treat and continuing the local tradition.

Again this year, the market offers the lowest weekly rate for booth space at $7.00 per Saturday or $65.00 for the season. The market is open every Saturday from June 17th to September 30th except Homecoming Saturday, July 29th. Set up begins at 7:30 am. The market opens at 8:30 am and closes at 12:00 noon. The market is open to small local businesses, craters and farmers. The market is located on North Fulton Street in the parking lot between Southern Breeze and the lawyers building. State Line Gem and Mineral Society To Host Annual Gem, Jewelry, Bead, Rock and Mineral Show
The State Line Gem and Mineral Society show is coming up soon! Visit the show June 2 , 3 and 4 at the Junior Fair Building on the Fulton County Fairgrounds, You can enjoy food catered by Essen Haus Restaurant again this year, as well as flintknapping by Steve Laut, geode cracking, silent auction and many quality dealers. Bring a copy of our postcard for $1 off admission.
The NTA show is highlighted by dozens of steam engines, in addition to hundreds of gas tractors and gas engines. Daily demonstrations include threshing, sawmill, shingle mill, veneer mill, plowing and machinery parades with covered grandstand seating for spectators. Please note: there are limited activities on Sunday.
Other highlights include antique tractor and steam engine pulling displays, operator skills contests, evening spark shows, prony brake horsepower testing, Baker fans, power eater and much more. Air-powered engine displays are also featured, along with photos and memorabilia dating back to the reunion's first show in 1945.

The work on the "It's Magic in Wauseon" mural is to begin on Wednesday May 17th. That is exciteing. Come by and watch the work porgress.
I know some of you have not yet donated to the 113 Mural Project. Perhaps you have been watiing for the actual painting to begin. Well. now we are there. You can still make a donation and put us over the top. Remembert any funds raised over what is needed for the mural will be used for two top hat planters which will be spoecially built to go along with the mural and toward making the worlds largest magic wand which will be on display beneath the mural.

After a chilly start for the opening of the 2023 season, the Wauseon Cruise nights followed up with a " reboot" and several picture perfect Tuesday nights to enjoy one of Wauseon's greatest annual downtown events. The leadership team has announced the schedule for the season, including food trucks and new vendors. Stop by on a Tuesday night to support this amazing Wauseon tradition.

Christ United Methodist Church
Community Meals Hosted at Christ United Methodist Church
Thursday Night Meals continue in Wauseon. Jerry Smith, the meal coordinator from the Christ United Methodist Church and the Wauseon Lions Club have announced a new Community Meal schedule. During the school year, pizza will be served on alternating Thursdays. The format for the meals has been adjusted due to a reduced number of providers from 13 to 8. Therefore, the meals for the most part will be every other week. Serving will be at Christ United Methodist Church fellowship hall from 5 to 6 p.m., for dine in and take outs only. Entrance will be through the Fulton Street doors only, except for wheelchairs that can enter at the kitchen door from the walkway south of the church. Mr. Smith expressed his thanks to the following organizations for their participation in this community service: Christ United Methodist Church, First Christian Church, St. Caspar’s Catholic Church, Trinity Lutheran Church, Wauseon Fire Department, Wauseon Lions Club, West Clinton Mennonite Church, Troop 8 Boy Scouts, and Church of the Master financial support.

Downtown Wauseon Association Mission Statement
The purpose of the Wauseon Downtown Association is to promote a vital community through marketing, promoting special events and development of leadership in the downtown district. Our organization meets to promote the downtown area, member businesses, and the community at large.
Membership in the Wauseon Downtown Association will be composed of merchants, restaurant owners, business leaders, non-profits, property owners and advocates to the downtown district.
A Personal Invitation From WDA President, James Kerr
I arrived in Fulton County in 1959 at the age of four.
My parents, Robert and Marcia Kerr brought their family of
four boys to start the Blue Skies Orchard at the former
McConkey farm just north of town.
Like so many who grew up outside of town, we came to
the downtown area to go to school and church and to shop. In the summer we played ball under the lights at the diamonds by Harmon Field, and on really hot days we swam at the Wauseon Public Pool at Reighard Park. The Homecoming was a social highlight in the summer. Santa visited the downtown in December while the star at the south end of Fulton Street and the live, colorfully lighted trees at every pole greeted the downtown shoppers.
I joined the Wauseon Downtown Association because I believe that the historic downtown must continue to be the focus of our community. Change is a constant in our lives together, yet amid these changes some historic aspects must be conserved, valued, and restored.
Together, with advocates and volunteers from our merchants, clubs, organizations, and churches, the Wauseon Downtown Association is investing in the future. We need the support of many friends who help to make the Wauseon Strawberry Festival, the Farmers' Market, the Christmas Parade, the Wauseon Window Wonderland Competition, and the Wauseon Downtown Chocolate Walk possible. Stay in touch and join us in sponsoring these events and more.
