When the first Saturday evening after Thanksgiving arrives , soon Fulton Street will begin to glow with the bright spirit of the holiday season.  Workers from the city have been very busy, stinging the lights across Fulton street and placing the festive wreaths and freshly cut pine trees. The preparation awaits the crowd that will greet the  annual Christmas Parade. 

When the Star at the Sourh Park begins to pulsate, the town gathers along the parade route beneath the glowing town decorations.  The sirens blare, and the parade begins. Floats, bands, horses, merchants, public service entries, and of course, Santa Claus travel by the historic downtown buildings as residents and guests remember Christmas past, and Christmas present.

The parade leads to the Wauseon Depot where Santa and Mrs. Claus meet with the local children.

The evening of lights kicks off the holiday shopping season in Wauseon, filled with music, decorations, family and community traditions.
