Wauseon Farmers' Market Salsa Challenge This Saturday

The Wauseon Farmers' Market is planning to host the second "Salsa Challenge." Saturday, October 3rd.The Wauseon Downtown Associaiton will be accepting all entries for the "Salsa Challenge.” at the Farmers' Market Welcome Booth. If you have agreat recipe, come and try it out at the competition! Bring your entires to register at the Market Welcome Booth beginning at 9:00 am.

Our market guests will receive tokens to be used as votes for the best salsa. Donations for the tokens will be $1.00. All donations will all be forwarded to the FISH Food Pantry.Tasting will begin at 10:00 am. All market guests can vote with a token. Canned goods for the FISH pantry will also be accepted at the Market Welcome Booth. Professional entries (from local restaurants) will be accepted along with all amateur entries. Plaques will be awarded to the winning salsas: People's Choice and Judges Choice. Categories include: Hot, Mild, Sweet and Original.

Each entry will receive a number, The competition will be “blind” so that the identity of the entrant will be hidden throughtout the competition until the winners are announced at the close of the market day. Participants should agree to prepare a a one quart entry for the competition. Tasters will be treated to a

one ounce sample with chips.
